How can we help you?

Getting Started

Shop and Tags is a shopping companion that remembers what you need so you don't have to. Unlike traditional list apps, it works the way your brain does—capturing items as you think of them, then helping you plan trips when you're ready to shop.

Tap "Add" in the navigation to open the Add Items page. Type the name of something you need—like "fresh produce" or "dog food"—and you'll see matching products from stores with real prices. Set a priority (must-have vs nice-to-have) and the item lands in your Item Bank, ready whenever you shop.

Must-have items are things you definitely need to buy. Nice-to-have items are optional—things you'll get if you have budget left over or if they're on sale. When planning a trip, Shop and Tags shows you both totals so you know what's essential vs what's flexible.

Yes — a free account is required so your items, trips, and price history are saved securely and accessible from any device. Signing up takes seconds with just an email and password.

Planning Trips

Go to "Plan & Budget" to see all your items. Select the items you want to buy on this trip, and Shop and Tags will show you the estimated total. You can then start a trip, which creates a checklist you can use while shopping.

Yes! Items aren't locked to specific stores. When you plan a trip, you choose where you're going, and you can take any items with you. If you don't find something at one store, it stays in your saved items for the next trip.

Items you don't check off during a trip stay in your saved items. They'll be there next time you shop. Nothing is ever lost—items only leave your bank when you explicitly mark them as purchased.

Yes! After completing a trip, you can save it as a template. Next time you need to make a similar trip (like a weekly grocery run), you can start from that template instead of selecting items one by one.

Prices & Budget

Shop and Tags learns prices from your receipts. When you record what you paid for an item, that price is remembered and used for future budget estimates. The more you shop, the more accurate your estimates become.

For new items without price history, Shop and Tags won't show an estimate. You can manually add an expected price, or just shop and record the actual price afterward. Over time, your price memory builds automatically.

After completing a trip, go to "Record Receipt" and enter what you paid for each item. This updates your price memory so future trips have better estimates. In the Pro plan (coming soon), you'll be able to scan receipts with your camera.

Yes! Shop and Tags remembers prices per store. So if milk costs $4.99 at Target but $5.49 at Walmart, you'll see the right estimate based on where you're planning to shop.

Troubleshooting

Try refreshing the page first. If items still don't appear, check if you're viewing a filtered list — the Item Bank (Home) shows all items, but Plan & Budget may filter by store or priority. Also make sure you're signed in to the same account you used when adding them.

Budget estimates are based on your recorded receipts. If you haven't recorded prices recently, estimates may be outdated. Also check that items have prices assigned—new items without price history won't contribute to the total.

Yes. In the Item Bank, you can delete items you no longer need. Deleted items are removed from your bank and won't appear in future trips. If you want to keep an item for later but not see it now, consider changing its priority instead.

You can delete individual items from the Item Bank, or archive completed trips. If you want to start completely over, go to your Profile page and look for account options. Be careful — deleted data cannot be recovered.

Groups & Sharing

Yes! Create a Group from the Groups page and invite people by email. Group members share items and trips, so everyone can see what's needed and coordinate who's buying what.

Open a group you manage and tap "Invite Member." Enter their email address and they'll receive an invitation link. Once accepted, they can view and add to the group's shared items and trips.

Absolutely. Every item belongs to either you personally or to a specific group. In Plan & Budget, you can filter between "Personal," "All Items," or a specific group to see exactly what you want.
